Search party will meet on Sunday, June 4 at 1 p.m. on Granville Island

THE family of missing man Suleiman Khawar has launched a search party, GoFundMe  campaign and tip line, to find the missing 23-year-old.

Khawar was last seen on Friday, May 26 in downtown Vancouver heading southbound from Roxy Cabaret around 1 a.m. on May 26.

Just after midnight, Khawar notified his mother that he was going to head home soon but never arrived. Cell phone records show he was heading southbound on Granville to cross the Granville Bridge.

The family is appealing to the public for leads in including dashcam footage.

“Somebody somewhere must have seen him,” said Wagma Khawar, Suleiman’s mother. “Please come forward if you have any information, however insignificant you may think it could be.”

The family is raising money to fund a private investigator and underwater searches. The search party will meet on Sunday, June 4 at 1 p.m. on Granville Island.

“We miss Suleiman very much and we will go to any lengths to find him,” said Wagma.
