3 males involved in fatal hit-and-run in Surrey released on conditions

SURREY RCMP announced on Monday that the three males involved in Saturday’s fatal hit-and-run were released with conditions pending their next court appearance.

On January 27 at approximately 1:43 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run. Officers located the pedestrian several blocks away and he was declared deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was struck in the roadway north on University Drive and 104 Avenue. Witnesses described seeing a red Ford Mustang strike the pedestrian and leave the scene without stopping to render assistance.

Surrey RCMP were able to quickly locate the suspect vehicle and its three occupants. The three occupants were taken into police custody.

Investigators are asking any potential witnesses to come forward if they were travelling in these areas this morning between 1:40 a.m. and 1:50 a.m.:northbound on University Drive, westbound on 108 Avenue and northbound on 132 Street.
