32-year-old Chris Kenworthy of Burnaby shot dead inside a vehicle (update)


 

ON Wednesday, around 8 p.m., Burnaby RCMP Frontline officers and Burnaby Gang Enforcement Team were called to the 6500-block of Portland Street for a report of shots fired. Police located a 32-year-old Burnaby man, Chris Kenworthy, dead inside a vehicle.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in and is working in partnership with Burnaby RCMP.

IHIT Sgt. Frank Jang said Kenworthy was known to police.

Based on the initial investigation, police do not consider this to be a random act and it is not believed that there is any danger to the public at this time.

The investigation is in its early stages and IHIT is working closely with the I-Teams along with the Burnaby RCMP to gather evidence.
