Alleged bank robber Gaurav Jassal, 25, of Brampton arrested

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested a male in relation to two bank robberies.

On Friday, October 16 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a suspect entered a financial institution in the area of  McLaughlin Road and Bovaird Drive in Brampton.  The suspect approached the teller and produced a handwritten note demanding money.  The teller complied and turned over a quantity of Canadian currency. The suspect exited the bank and was last seen fleeing on foot.

On Wednesday, October 21 at 12:44 p.m., the same suspect attended a financial institution located in the area of Highway 50 and Fogal Road in Brampton. The suspect attended the teller and produced a handwritten note demanding money. The teller complied and turned over a quantity of Canadian currency. Through a detailed criminal investigation, the suspect was identified.

On October 21 at 2:13 p.m., Gaurav Jassal, a 25-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery and wear disguise with intent.
