Burnaby shooting appears to have been targeted

BURNABY RCMP are investigating a shots fired incident in the 4300-block of Dawson Street.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to multiple reports of shots being fired.

Police located a pickup truck with bullet holes; however, there were no injuries reported as a result of the shooting.

Dawson Street is expected to be closed in both directions between Rosser Avenue and Madison Avenue for several hours while officers investigate.

Burnaby RCMP are also investigating whether a vehicle found burning in the 8700-block of Maple Grove Crescent at approximately 12:30 p.m. is linked to the shooting.

“The incident appears to be targeted,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP. “Police will remain the area for quite some time.”
