| CENTREBC on Sunday announced Lakhwinder Jhaj as its candidate for the upcoming Abbotsford–Mission by-election. The party said that Jhaj is stepping forward because she believes the people of Abbotsford–Mission deserve a strong, practical voice focused on the community—not political games, division, or party politics. CentreBC Leader Mike Bernier welcomed Jhaj as the party’s candidate and said her nomination reflects the type of community-based leadership the party is working to build across British Columbia. “Lakhwinder Jhaj is a strong, community-minded candidate who understands that politics should be about serving people, listening to their concerns and getting things done,” said Bernier. “ The people of Abbotsford–Mission deserve a representative who will put their interests first. Lakhwinder brings energy, integrity and a commitment to building a better future for this community, and I am proud to have her representing CentreBC.” Jhaj said she is running because she believes politics needs a new direction—one that puts people and communities ahead of partisan agendas. “I am honoured to be the CentreBC candidate for Abbotsford–Mission,” says Jhaj. “I am running because I believe our community deserves a voice that listens, works hard and puts local priorities first. This is about bringing people together and making sure Abbotsford–Mission has a strong voice at the table.” CentreBC said it exists to offer a moderate, pragmatic option for voters tired of the NDP’s disastrous policies and the BC Conservative dysfunction. It is building a new political movement focused on practical solutions, responsible government, stronger communities and putting the people of British Columbia first.
