SURREY RCMP are assisting Surrey Fire Services following a fatal residential fire in Surrey.

On February 24 at 5:20 a.m., police received a report of a residential structure fire in the 15100-block of 88 Avenue. Police arrived on scene with the Surrey Fire Department and evacuated the occupants of neighboring residences.

Surrey Fire Department located an unidentified female in the residence. She did not survive.

Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit (GIU) investigated alongside the Surrey Fire Inspector, and has determined the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
