Ford Continues to Lead in Full-Size Pickups

 

For Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd., another month brings another set of sales records for Ford F-Series, Canada’s top-selling trucks for 52 years and counting. Overall sales of F-Series were the best on record for the month of May, while Ford F-Series Super Duty saw best ever sales for the second consecutive month. The Ford F-Series has best May on record; with the Super Duty setting all-time record I sales. Other Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. – May Highlights   include: total F-Series sales increase 5% – Best May on Record, Ford F-Series Super Duty sales increase 8% – Best Month Ever on Record, Ford F-150 sales increase 4% – Best May on Record, and Ford E-Series sales increased18%.

“Canadians continue to tell us that the innovations in Ford F-Series pickups are exactly what they are looking for in a truck,” said Mark Buzzell, president and CEO, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. “As we work towards delivering the freshest vehicle lineup in the industry by 2020, this success is a good reminder of what we can achieve when we deliver the vehicles, features and experiences consumers value most.”  The new 2018 Ford F-150 has   two new engines namely a 3.3-liter V6 and 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine for better fuel economy and more power.   A diesel option is also on offer soon. There is also a new ten-speed transmission option and the availability of features such as available adaptive cruise with stop-and-go and pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection.  On the exterior, the 2018 F-150 sports new headlights, tail gate finishes and grilles, There are new exterior colours to choose from—as well as new wheel options ranging from 18”-22” in size. Interior wise, there are some new interior colors and the inclusion of a really great audiophile quality B&O audio system. Ford’s sync 3 system is also improved

Meanwhile Ford is making its iconic halo pickup;  the F-150 Raptor – the ultimate high-performance off-road pickup – even better with upgraded technology including class-exclusive, electronically controlled FOX Racing Shox, new Trail Control™ and all-new Recaro sport seats. “Raptor’s success is rooted in its incredible suspension, superb vehicle control and the confidence the truck instills in its owners,” said Hermann Salenbauch, global director, Ford Performance vehicle programs. “Upgrades to the 2019 F-150 Raptor have improved all three to new levels that the competition will have to benchmark – again.”   The upgraded 2019 F-150 Raptor will be built at Dearborn Truck Plant. It goes on sale in late 2018.
