Hardil Kanwal, 21, of Brampton charged with firearm- and drug-related offences

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police have charged Hardil Kanwal, 21, of Brampton with firearm- and drug-related offences.

On Friday, October 21, officers from the Specialized Enforcement Bureau (SEB) unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Unit, executed a search warrant in the area of Airport Road and Castlemore Road in Brampton. As a result of the search warrant, the following items were located and seized:

  • Glock 23 .40 calibre firearm with twenty rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber
  • Extended magazine with a 22 round capacity
  • 187 rounds of ammunition
  • 6.6 pounds of marijuana

Officers from the Specialized Enforcement Bureau (SEB), executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant and have charged a Brampton man with firearm and drug related offences.

Kanwal has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing

Kanwal was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
