SURREY – Jupneet Kahlon, an aspiring photographer and videographer, immigrated to Canada just four years ago. Despite the challenges many new immigrants face, Jupneet was able to quickly identify his passions and chase his dreams. Through various school projects, volunteer initiatives and a recent internship with Shaw as a TV Broadcast Apprentice, Jupneet has been able to grow as a student and work on his craft.

Last month, Jupneet received first place in the Royal Canadian Legion’s Youth Remembrance Video Contest. His video, entitled “Lest We Forget,” allowed Jupneet to showcase his talent and newfound knowledge of Canada’s rich heritage and history. Through the video, Jupneet enlightens viewers on military sacrifice and its effect on people from various Allied nations. He sends a profound yet necessary message through his work, and demonstrates the privileges our youth of today have because of those sacrifices.

“Lest We Forget” can be found on Youtube and on the Legion’s website. Jupneet is a promising new talent to the world of photography and videography, and we look forward to seeing more of his work in the future.
