THE BC RCMP has notified the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) of an incident in Coquitlam where one man has died.

On August 1, shortly before 3:30 a.m., Coquitlam RCMP received a complaint of disturbance in a home. It was reported that when officers arrived at the door to a home in a residential building, a man pushed it back before running towards the patio.

The officers entered the home and made their way to the patio but reportedly did not see him. When they looked over the railing he was spotted below. He was later confirmed deceased.

As the matter is now under investigation by the IIO BC, no further information will be released by police.
