ONTARIO MP Chandra Arya on Sunday spoke on trade relations between Canada and India at an event organized by the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce, B.C., in Surrey.

Arya explained how both culturally diverse countries are important to each other. He said that in spite of recent differences, trade continues between the two countries smoothly. He highlighted how Canada’s strength in small modular nuclear reactors can help countries like India to meet their power demands.

Arya’s address was followed by a discussion and a question-and-answer session.

Among the topics discussed were how to improve the Canada-India trade relationship, how the Hindu community could be more participative on the Canadian economic front; how to unify and find common ground among diverse Indo-Canadian communities to work and thrive together; and how to inspire our teenagers to volunteer at MLAs’/MPs’ offices and community building events, and learn public-speaking and debating skills.

Vijoy Chakraborty urged attendees to consider becoming life members of the chamber. The event organizing committee included Dhruv Gupta (CHCC President, BC), Manish Bhatia (CHCC Vice President, BC), Manish Garg, Achal Singhal and Vinay Sharma.

The chamber said that the event reaffirmed its commitment to promoting economic advancement, cultural integration, and sustainable growth within the Canadian business community.
