SURREY RCMP are currently on scene following a report of an apartment fire in the 13300-block of 104 Avenue, in the Whalley area.

At approximately 8:23 a.m. on Saturday, Surrey RCMP received a report from the Surrey Fire Service about the apartment fire.

Upon extinguishing the fire, Surrey Fire Service located one deceased person inside.

The investigation is currently underway and is in its early stages. Surrey RCMP officers are canvassing for witnesses in the area.
