Pedestrian injured in North Vancouver hit-and-run collision

NORTH Vancouver RCMP are seeking dash cam and CCTV footage to advance their investigation of a reported hit-and-run collision.

On Saturday, January 31 at approximately 7:30 p.m., North Vancouver RCMP received reports of a hit-and-run involving two pedestrians at the intersection of Highland Boulevard and Wavertree Road in North Vancouver. It is alleged that a man and a woman were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when a white sedan struck the pedestrians. The suspect vehicle briefly slowed down but quickly drove away.

The female pedestrian sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. The man was not injured. The suspect vehicle is described as a white sedan with a possible broken headlight.

“Police are asking the driver of the white sedan to come forward and provide their version of events,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP, on Monday. “Coming forward now is the right thing to do, and it will help investigators gain a clearer understanding of what occurred.”

Anyone with dash cam footage, CCTV, or who witnessed the collision on Highland Boulevard and Wavertree Road on January 31 at around 7:30 p.m. is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 26-2119.
