UPPER Fraser Valley Regional RCMP are responding to a report of a possible drowning at Cultus Lake.

At approximately 1:21 p.m., on Saturday, August 8, Chilliwack RCMP received a report of a 13-year-old female, reported missing and believed to be in the waters of Cultus Lake. 

The female was reportedly floating on a paddleboard when she is believed to have suffered a medical emergency. She was not wearing a life jacket and is believed to have entered the water as she fell off of the paddleboard.

Police officers along with Chilliwack Fire, BC Emergency Health Services and Chilliwack Search and Rescue are on scene, conducting search and rescue efforts.

Police are asking the public to avoid the ‘Entrance Bay’ area of Cultus Lake today as this is an active search and rescue operation.
