LOCAL organizations have until October 5 to apply for funding through the City of Surrey’s 2027 Cultural Grants Program. A total of $500,000 is available to support arts, culture and heritage activities across Surrey.
“Surrey’s diversity is reflected in the many artists, organizations and cultural groups that bring our communities to life,” said Laurie Cavan, general manager of Parks, Recreation and Culture, on Monday. “Through the Cultural Grants Program, we are investing in local organizations that create opportunities for people to experience arts, culture and heritage and connect with one another. I encourage eligible organizations to apply before the deadline and continue contributing to Surrey’s cultural vibrancy.”
The program supports a wide range of activities, including music, dance, theatre, visual and media arts, heritage, Indigenous arts, and cultural celebrations. Registered and non-registered non-profit organizations planning cultural activities in Surrey can apply for funding through three categories: Cultural Celebration Grants up to $3,000, Project Grants up to $10,000, and Operating Grants up to $25,000.
In 2026, the City awarded $506,400 in cultural grants to 86 organizations that supported yearly operating, annual, and one-off cultural events across Surrey.
Organizations that need help with their application can book a one-on-one mentorship session with the Cultural Grants liaison until Sept. 25. Sessions provide guidance on program eligibility and the application process.
