ON Friday, September 19, at approximately 8:19 p.m., Delta Police responded to a shooting in the 900-block of English Bluff Road near Fred Gingell Park. A 17-year-old youth sustained serious injuries in what investigators believe to be a targeted incident. The victim was transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation indicates the youth, who is not from Delta, was part of a group of high school students from another Lower Mainland community. The group had stopped at Fred Gingell Park as part of a party bus celebration. A newer model silver or grey Toyota Camry was observed fleeing the area following the incident.

Delta Police officers will be conducting door-to-door canvassing in the vicinity of the shooting. Investigators are seeking any information or video footage involving a silver or grey Toyota Camry in the area around the time of the incident.
