5 more charges laid in Yaletown assaults in Vancouver

VANCOUVER Police say that an additional five charges have been laid following a Vancouver Police investigation into a series of assaults in Yaletown earlier this month. The investigation began on October 10 after several people reported being assaulted by a stranger near David Lam Park around 7:30 a.m.

On October 14, 35-year-old Tamara Hamelin was charged with one count of assault. On Friday, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved an additional four counts of assault with a weapon and one further count of assault.

Hamelin remains in custody until her next court appearance.
