93-year-old woman driver dead in Surrey collision

THE RCMP Surrey Police Operations Support Unit’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (SPOSU CCIT) is investigating a two-vehicle collision in the 15700-block of 92 Avenue that occurred on Tuesday morning where one person has died.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on June 17, SPOSU officers received reports from BCEHS of a two-vehicle collision in the 15700-block of 92 Avenue. Surrey Fire Service firefighters and BCEHS paramedics attended the scene and despite life-saving medical interventions, a 93-year-old woman, the driver of one of the vehicles, died.

SPOSU CCIT has been called in to lead the investigation. At this early stage, the cause of the collision remains unknown.

The intersection of 158 Street and 92 Avenue is currently closed and motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternate routes while the investigation takes place.
