IHIT called in after male shot and killed in Maple Ridge

RIDGE Meadows RCMP announced on Saturday that a shooting occurred in Maple Ridge the afternoon.

On April 9, at around 4:30 p.m., police received numerous calls regarding possible shots fired in the 22600-block of Lougheed Highway. Police found a male suffering from gunshot wounds. The man later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said that the investigation is in the very early stages, however, the preliminary details reveal that this does not appear to be a random incident.

Ridge Meadows RCMP will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) and police are currently in the evidence gathering stage of this investigation.
