ABBOTSFORD Police say that on Monday at 9 a.m., their traffic officers arrested a 52-year-old Abbotsford resident for impaired driving after he attempted to flee from police. This marks his third impaired driving offense in just under three years.

Additionally, his Class 1 driver’s license has now been suspended, and he is required to attend court.

Abbotsford Police say that in the past 41 days, they have removed 135 impaired drivers from Abbotsford roadways.

“Despite the penalties and consequences, impaired driving remains a persistent issue. Road safety must be a priority for everyone who gets behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. Our officers will continue to conduct enforcement with a zero-tolerance approach,” police said.
