A suspect was arrested on Wednesday following an alleged assault at a bus stop in the Marpole neighbourhood on July 7. 

Vancouver Police located and arrested the 37-year-old man without incident after receiving tips from Crime Stoppers. The suspect has since been released from custody with specific conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

At approximately 9:25 a.m. on July 7, a man was waiting for a bus near Southwest Marine Drive and Ash Street, when a male suspect approached from behind, pushed the victim, and ripped headphones that he was wearing off his head.

The suspect then allegedly struck the victim multiple times with a longboard-style skateboard. The victim managed to flee the scene while calling 911. He sustained minor injuries to his forearm.

Investigators released a cellphone photo of the suspect on Monday, July 13.
