MLA Adrian Dix (Vancouver-Renfrew) and MLA Raj Chouhan (Burnaby- New Westminster) joined community members, cultural organizations and families at Fiji Festival 2026 on July 11 at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, celebrating Fijian culture, traditions and the contributions of the Fijian community in British Columbia.

Hosted by the Fiji Association of British Columbia, the annual festival brought together thousands of attendees for a day of cultural performances, live entertainment, traditional cuisine, community activities and family programming.

Dix and Chouhan attended the festival to connect with community members, recognize the importance of preserving cultural heritage, and celebrate the role of Fijian British Columbians in strengthening the province’s diverse and inclusive communities.

The free, family-friendly event featured traditional Fijian music and dance performances, cultural showcases, a soccer tournament, fashion show, community marketplace, local vendors and activities for all ages. Attendees also enjoyed authentic Fijian food, live entertainment and raffle draws throughout the day.

The Fiji Festival has become one of Metro Vancouver’s largest Pacific Island cultural celebrations, providing an opportunity for residents to learn about Fijian traditions and celebrate the community’s culture and contributions.

Dix and Chouhan thanked the Fiji Association of British Columbia, volunteers, performers and organizers for hosting the annual celebration and bringing people together through culture and community.
