On July 18, at approximately 4 p.m., a resident lost her 1.31-carat diamond ring valued at approximately $17,000 in the parking lot located in the 4500-block of No. 3 Road.

Shortly after midnight on July 19, the loss was reported to Richmond RCMP. An officer responded to the location and conducted a search of the parking lot. While searching the area, the reflection from the officer’s police vehicle headlights illuminated the ring, which was lying on the ground. The ring was recovered and safely secured.

The owner subsequently attended the Richmond RCMP Detachment where the ring was positively identified and returned.

“This was a very fortunate outcome,” said Cpl. Melissa Lui, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Officer. “We are pleased that the ring was located quickly and returned to its rightful owner. This incident highlights the value of reporting lost property to police as soon as possible.”
