BC Green Party candidate for Surrey North, Yudhbir Gill, is facing harssment as someone has posted a TikTok video showing a digitally altered version of his campaign lawn sign that has changed his given name into one that is an obscene way of calling someone stupid in Punjabi and Hindi.

“My first name, “Yudhbir,” has been changed to “*udhbir,” an alteration I consider offensive and intended to ridicule me. Family members and friends brought the video to my attention after seeing it on TikTok. It has already received more than 50,000 views,” he told The VOICE on Sunday.

“I am concerned about the impact on my reputation and the spread of personal attacks during an election campaign,” he added.

We have advised him to file a complaint with Surrey Police and Elections BC.
