Brampton – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau of Ontario’s Peel Regional Police have arrested a 26 year-old man in relation to an attempted murder.
On May 27 at approximately 5:50 a.m., the accused met the 20-year-old victim at an address in Brampton. An altercation ensued during which the accused stabbed the victim numerous times. The victim was able to escape and the accused fled the area. The victim was taken to a trauma centre where she was treated for a number of stab wounds.
Amritpal Bhatti was arrested at his residence in Mississauga later that day on a number of criminal charges relating to this incident. he was charged with attempted murder, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and fail to stop at scene of accident.
