Another fraudulent COVID-19 document seized at Toronto Airport

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators from the Airport Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a man with allegedly using a fraudulent COVID-19 document after arriving from an international flight at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

On Tuesday, April 20, at approximately 4:53 p.m., police attended the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to assist. A CBSA officer was conducting an inspection check of a man’s entry documents, including a COVID-19 document. The review by the Public Health Agency of Canada officer deemed the alleged document to be fraudulent.

A 57-year-old man from Whitby was arrested and charged for ‘utter forge document.’ He was released on a Form 9 Appearance Notice and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on July 5 in Brampton.

Once released, he returned to the Public Health Agency of Canada for processing.
