BURNABY RCMP continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred in the wooded area north of Highway 1 and east of Willingdon Avenue on Saturday night.

Police are advising the public that the westbound slow lane on Highway 1 is closed approximately 500 metres east of the Willingdon Avenue offramp. The offramp will remain accessible; however, traffic will be affected into the morning commute and potentially well into the day.

Burnaby RCMP are asking that commuters plan an alternate route if possible or plan accordingly for the delays.

You are requested to slow down in the area as there will be people working near the highway through the night and into tomorrow.
