ON December 11, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Burnaby RCMP responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle at Canada Way and Burris Street.
The victim was crossing the street when a vehicle turning left onto Canada Way eastbound failed to yield and struck the victim. The driver did not remain on scene.
As a result of the collision, a 64-year-old female pedestrian was left with serious injuries.
On January 23, 2025, Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team arrested a 45-year-old Burnaby man in connection to the hit-and-run.
Police said there are no further details to report as the investigation is ongoing.

We are thinking of the victim as she continues to recover from her injuries.“
