Fatal single-vehicle collision in New Westminster

NEW Westminster Police and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 11 at the intersection of East Columbia Street and Brunette Avenue. BC Emergency Health Services paramedics transported two people to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, succumbed to his injuries. All the contributing factors of this incident are still under investigation, police said.

“Officers secured the scene and began collecting evidence,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver. “This is a tragic event and our thoughts are with the family of this individual.”
