Female pedestrian dead in Pitt Meadows collision

RIDGE Meadows RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle incident that occurred on Wednesday morning in Pitt Meadows.

On June 18 at approximately 2:40 a.m., frontline officers responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian in the 18900-block of Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows.

Upon police arrival, it was determined that the female pedestrian was deceased.

The Investigational Support Team (IST), Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team (ICARS) were called out to assist with the investigation.

Lougheed Highway was shut down westbound for several hours after the collision.

This is currently an active and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time, police said.
