FORMER Calgary mayor Jyoti Gondek says RCMP executed a search warrant at her home and seized a cellphone, according to media reports.
RCMP also executed a search warrant at the home of current Ward 10 Councillor Andre Chabot and seized his cell phone last week. He told the media he is cooperating fully with the investigation.
The home of former Ward 4 Councillor Sean Chu was also subject to a search and cellphone seizure, CBC reports.
CBC says a media spokesperson for RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region confirmed its ongoing investigation relating to a referral they received from Calgary Police Services in October 2025.
According to CBC, the investigation relates to allegations of corruption involving a business.
Gondek told media in a statement: “I’ve been fully cooperative and respectful of the legal process.”
She said: “At the same time, this has been very invasive, and my lawyer and I will be reviewing it closely to ensure it was justified.”
