ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have made an arrest in connection with three robberies that occurred in Brampton.

The three incidents occurred between March and June in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street East. In each case, the suspect allegedly waited inside automated teller machine (ATM) vestibules and targeted victims after they withdrew cash.

It is further alleged that once the victims completed their transactions, the suspect assaulted them and stole their money. One of the victims was a senior citizen.

Investigators identified the suspect and conducted surveillance, ultimately locating him.

On June 16, Sureshkumaran Rajaputhiran, a 34-year-old man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with three counts of robbery and held for a bail hearing.

Peel Regional Police are reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings at all times, particularly when using ATMs or handling cash withdrawals.
