SASKATCHEWAN RCMP announced on Monday that a vehicle driven by Saskatchewan Roughrider Jayden Dalke, 30, was travelling northbound in the southbound lane of Highway 11 near Lumsden when it collided head-on with a vehicle Bhishma Rajyaguru, 22, was driving last Saturday night.
Police said that Dalke reportedly left a gas station without paying about a half-hour before the collision that killed both Dalke and Rajyaguru.
They also said that they found alcohol and cannabis in Dalke’s vehicle.
A GoFundMe titled “Bringing Bhishma Home: Honoring a Life Taken Too Soon” by “Friends and Families” had raised over $70,000 by Monday night and was paused.
The GoFundMe reads: “Yesterday, July 18, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m., our lives changed forever. We lost a beautiful soul, a best friend, and a beacon of light. Bhishma, only 22 years old, was tragically killed in a head-on collision on Highway 11, just outside Regina. He was the victim of an alleged wrong-way driver—a senseless tragedy that has shattered the hearts of everyone who knew him.
“Bhishma came to Canada in April 2022 with big dreams and an even bigger heart. He was a deeply responsible son, an honest friend, and a truly talented, passionate musician who filled our lives with melody and joy. To know him was to know kindness, loyalty, and an infectious love for life. His future was incredibly bright, and his absence leaves a void that words simply cannot describe.
“We need your help to bring him home.
“His parents in India are currently facing the nightmare that no parent should ever have to endure: the loss of their child. We, his friends here in Canada, are coming together to ensure that Bhishma is transported back home so his family can hold him one last time and lay him to rest.”
It adds: “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers we have already received. Thank you for helping us honor Bhishma’s memory and for supporting his family during their darkest hour.
“We are gathering this funds to support Bhishma’s family back home and to send him to India. Bhishma was my friend and family.”
