SURREY Police Service (SPS) officers are investigating an overnight ‘shots fired’ incident that has resulted in property damage to a Surrey residence.
The house belongs to South Asian.
At about 2:43 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, SPS officers responded to calls of possible shots fired into a residence located in the 7800-block of 124 Street, Surrey. Officers confirmed that damage to the exterior of the residence had been caused by gunshots. Several people were inside the residence at the time and there were no injuries.
(Incidentally, on Sunday, October 26 at approximately 2:43 a.m., Delta Police also responded to a report that shots may have been fired into a residence in the 11200-block of 78B Avenue. Officers located shell casing and confirmed several shots had been fired into the residence. Police have not said if the two may be connected.)
Officers will be on scene throughout the day to examine the area for physical and digital evidence. At this early stage the motive for the shots fired remains under investigation and investigators will be liaising with police partners to determine if there are any links to other files.
