On June 22, 2023, Navinder Gill entered a guilty plea to the charge of second-degree murder.

On February 21, 2024, he was sentenced to life in prison with no parole eligibility for 10 years.

“Incidents of intimate partner violence have a profound effect on families and communities,” said IHIT Sgt.
