ON February 12, 2021, Surrey RCMP responded to a call at a home near 194 Street and 66 Avenue. They found 31-year-old Adrian Golofit deceased with injuries indicative of homicide. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to investigate.
This past weekend marked the one year anniversary of Adrian Golofit’s murder. Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate. Golofit was not known to police and the motive is being determined.
After a fulsome review of evidence uncovered thus far, IHIT has confirmed that Golofit’s murder was targeted and not random. The forensic examination has been completed as is the review of electronics found inside the residence. Several witnesses have provided an account of Golofit’s activities. This, along with forensic and technological evidence has identified additional avenues for follow-up.
“The information obtained thus far is painting a clearer picture of what may have transpired,” said IHIT Sgt. David Lee on Wednesday. “We are looking to speak with anyone with information.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
