CHARGES have now been approved against a man alleged to have connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Monday afternoon in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood.
At approximately 3:13 p.m. on October 6, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of the Gateway Skytrain Station and the intersection of 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard after which the alleged suspect went to the Surrey Police Service District 1 Community Police Office where more shots were fired. The suspect was arrested a short time later by police.
Jose Digno Rodriguez Centeno, a 34-year-old male, has now been charged with one count each of:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Reckless discharge of a firearm
- Assault a police officer
- Resist or willfully obstruct a police officer
Jose Digno Rodriguez Centeno has been remanded in custody and his next scheduled court appearance is on October 10.
