June: ALS Awareness Month

THE month of June has officially been proclaimed as ALS awareness month in BC by the province of British Columbia. Throughout this month, over 100 events are held throughout the province, to raise funds and awareness for ALS. These events include the Move to Cure ALS, and the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS.

This year 13 BC communities will hold in-person events for the Move to Cure ALS. To learn more, visit the website here.

Also taking place in June is the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS, where golf professionals will golf from sunrise to sunset to raise funds for the ALS Society of British Columbia’s Patient Service Programs.  A list of over 38 participating golf courses can be found at www.golfathonforals.com

Another exciting event taking place during June, landmarks around BC will be lit up in the colour purple to mark the beginning of and show continued support of ALS Awareness Month in BC.
