Liberals win all three by-elections, giving Carney a majority in Parliament

LIBERAL candidates won in all three by-elections on Monday:

* Danielle Martin won in the University—Rosedale riding in Toronto;

* Doly Begum won in the Scarborough Southwest riding in Toronto; and

* Tatiana Auguste won in the Terrebonne riding in Quebec, giving Carney a majority in the House of Commons.

The Liberals now have 174 seats in the House of Commons. This number includes five MPs who crossed the floor from the opposition parties.

The Conservatives have 140 seats.
