Man shot and killed in Surrey

ON Friday, June 7 at approximately 8:46 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a shooting in the residential area of 164 Street and 10 Avenue that has left one man deceased.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male victim who had sustained injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are investigating whether a burned vehicle located a short time later in the area of 18500-block of McMillan Road is connected to the homicide.

According to one media report, one of the residents in the neighbourhood where the shooting occurred found a bullet hole in their window.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

Police said they are currently in the evidence gathering phase and no further information will be provided at this time.
