VANCOUVER Police are investigating a Christmas Eve collision in Kitsilano, which killed the driver of a motorcycle and sent another person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The collision occurred around 4:25 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24 when the motorcyclist collided with an SUV at the intersection of Cornwall Avenue and Balsam Street, near Kits Pool. The 44-year-old driver of the motorcycle died at the collision scene. A female passenger on the bike was seriously injured and taken to hospital in critical condition.

The SUV driver was not seriously injured.

Police believe the motorcycle, a 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000, was heading west on Cornwall Avenue prior to striking the SUV.
