NORTH Vancouver RCMP announced on Thursday that they seized a substantial amount of drugs and weapons from a residence during a drug trafficking investigation.
In September of 2024, North Vancouver RCMP front line officers launched an investigation after observing suspicious activity consistent with drug trafficking and after receiving reports from the community regarding a residence in the 900-block of Lynn Valley Road.
Following an investigation spanning several months, officers from patrol and with assistance from the Investigative Support Team and the Lower Mainland’s Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on November 1. During the execution of the warrant, a nearby school was placed on “hold and secure” out of an abundance of caution.
During this investigation, multiple suspects were identified and taken into custody. Five suspects were arrested and they are between the ages of 35 and 48 years old. Three of the five suspects are under the scope of the police investigation. A report to the Public Prosecution Services of Canada is under way to recommend charges against the three suspects, police said.
Two children were also located inside the residence.
During the search of the residence officers seized large quantities of cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, fentanyl, prescription and counterfeit prescription pills, firearms, cash and stolen items related to other investigations.
Police seized:
* 1 kilo of heroin
* 3.6 kilos of Schedule 2 (8) synthetic cannabinoid
* 295 grams of furanylfentanyl (furanylfentanyl is an analogue of fentanyl and has the same effects)
* 205 grams of methamphetamine
* 3 grams of cocaine
* 4 kilos of caffeine
* 3 handguns
* 1 rifle
* 1 sawed off shotgun
“This successful operation underscores the vital role that community partnerships and intelligence-led policing play in ensuring the safety and well-being of North Vancouver residents,” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP.
“The collaboration between community members and our frontline officers has been instrumental in tackling the challenges posed by harmful drugs. Today’s results are a testament to the dedication, commitment, and teamwork required to create a safer environment for everyone.”
