NORTH Vancouver RCMP are appealing to the public for the return of ashes stolen from a parked vehicle.
On Saturday, October 14, at around 10:30 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in the 500-block of West 21st Street. Investigators learned that one of the complainants had their deceased husband’s ashes in an urn stolen from a white Kia Forte.
Police have conducted extensive neighbourhood inquiries in an effort to further the investigation. They are now appealing to the public to help them locate the stolen urn.
The urn shown in the picture here is identical to the one that was stolen from the Kia Forte. The stolen urn has a date of 09-09-09.
“Obviously, this is something of a great sentimental value to the owner and we are hoping the perpetrator will do the right thing and return it,” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP, on Monday.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the urn or who has seen it is asked to call North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
