NORTH Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage in an effort to further their investigation of an unprovoked assault.
On March 20 at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault near the intersection of Marine Drive and Lloyd Avenue. It’s alleged that a flagger, who was conducting their work, was approached by a male who requested a lighter. When the flagger was unable to provide a lighter, the suspect allegedly assaulted them. The victim suffered injuries as a result of the assault but did not require hospitalization.
North Vancouver RCMP officers immediately responded, located the suspect nearby and arrested him. He has since been released with a court date of June 11.
“This was a frightening and unsettling incident for the victim,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP. “Thanks to the quick response of our officers, the suspect was arrested. However, our investigation is ongoing. We are asking anyone who was in the area of Marine Drive and Lloyd Avenue between 8:20 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. on March 20 and may have witnessed the incident to come forward.”
Anyone who witnessed or has video of the incident is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 25-5511.
