North Vancouver RCMP seek witnesses after serious collision involving motorcyclist

NORTH Vancouver RCMP are investigating a serious collision that occurred on Sunday afternoon.

On June 15 just before 4 p.m., police received multiple reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a vehicle at the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and 14th Street. It’s alleged that a motorcyclist was travelling northbound on Lonsdale Avenue when they were struck by a white Tesla attempting to make a left turn onto East 14th Street. Several bystanders rushed to help the motorcyclist, who sustained serious, potentially life-altering injuries and was transported to the hospital by paramedics.

Lonsdale Avenue and 14th Street were partially closed for several hours while the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) conducted an analysis of the scene and gathered evidence.

“We are appealing to any witnesses who may have captured dash cam footage of this incident, specifically vehicles travelling north or south on Lonsdale Avenue between 3:45 p.m. and 4 p.m. on June 15,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP.

Investigators are also looking to speak with the driver of a second white Tesla that was seen travelling southbound on Lonsdale Avenue at 14th Street just prior to the collision. The vehicle’s dash cam may contain crucial footage that could assist in the investigation.

“If you have video or were a witness and have not yet spoken with police, please contact us at 604-985-1311 and quote file number #25-12226,” said Sahak.

Police would also like to commend the bystanders who quickly rushed to the aid of the injured motorcyclist. Understandably, the incident was quite traumatic for witnesses, police said. Anyone affected and wishing to speak with Victim Services is encouraged to call 604-969-7540.
