North Vancouver shooting victim is Ngoc Mai (Anita) Nguyen, 32

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its investigation into the shooting in North Vancouver.

On April 2, at around 10:45 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100-block of Lonsdale Avenue. First responders arrived on scene to find 32-year-old Ngoc Mai (Anita) Nguyen with gunshot wounds. Nguyen was taken to hospital where she was placed on life support with non-survivable injuries. IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and are working to determine motive.

IHIT continues to work closely with its partners from the North Vancouver RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.

“We will be continuing our coordinated canvass of the neighbourhood where the shooting took place for video surveillance footage and witnesses,” said IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang. “Our detectives will continue to follow-up on several leads and we urge anyone with information about what happened to Anita Nguyen to contact IHIT immediately.”
