A life filled with Love, Education, and Family
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Mrs. Premchitt Niranjan Siripawa, nee Leekha. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the age of 93 in Richmond, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Prem Singh Siripawa.
She will be greatly missed by her four children; Cherry (Paramjit), Nancy (Kanwal), Allan, and Jelly (Vikas), eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren whom she adored. She was the matriarch and cornerstone to so many; her life was full of love and her generous caring spirit will live on through her family.
She was one of the founding directors of India Mahila Association (IMA) in 1973. IMA has supported and empowered women of the South Asian descent in Canada society over the last 50 years.
We will miss her sense of humour, unwavering love, and infectious smile.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate her life at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Valley View Funeral Home (14644 72nd Avenue, Surrey) followed by Antim Ardas and Bhog prayer at 12:30 p.m. at York Gurdwara Sahib Society (103-7938 128th Street, Surrey).
