One dead in multiple vehicle collision in Surrey

ON Tuesday, December 21 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a multiple vehicle collision, with one fatality, in the area of King George Boulevard and Trites Road.

A Lexus sedan was northbound on King George Boulevard, when it lost control and crossed the centre median and struck two other vehicles, a jeep and a minivan. The driver of the Lexus suffered significant injuries and  was pronounced deceased at scene, while the occupants of the other vehicles are being treated for minor injuries at a local area hospital.

Drugs/alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision, and the incident is still under investigation. The BC Coroner’s service has been engaged and is conducting a parallel investigation.

It is expected that King George Boulevard will be closed in both directions for several hours, and drivers are asked to avoid King George Boulevard and find an alternate route.
