One male shot dead, two others suffer life-threatening injuries in Surrey

SURREY RCMP are currently on scene following a shooting in the 14600-block of 20 Avenue in Surrey that has left one man dead and two others with life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday at approximately 2:45 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of the shooting and located three male victims in medical distress suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided life-saving measures until Emergency Health Services arrived.

Despite all efforts, one of the injured men succumbed to his injuries on scene. The remaining two victims were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for any witnesses or those with dash cam footage from the area to contact police.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

Initial investigations are that this was a targeted incident. The investigation is in the early stages and police are currently in the evidence-gathering phase. At this point in time, there is no concern for public safety.
